A bit of history

Procedo was founded in 1986 and has since been an active investor and manager of real estate in Europe. Although our core strategy remains the same, we are constantly developing and innovating in order to be at the forefront of the industry.

  • 1986 – 1989

    Procedo is founded by Sture Johansson after a management buyout of Diös Södra. The construction part of the business is divested to focus on owning real estate. Over the subsequent years part of the Swedish portfolio is sold while other investments are made in primarily London and Dublin.

  • 1990 – 1999

    Swedish real estate crisis hits and Procedo survives thanks to conservative investing in the prior years. During the crisis Procedo starts an external asset management business to help banks that seized foreclosed real estate in the crisis. Additionally, Procedo acts opportunistically and invests in Sweden throughout the decade, mainly on the west coast.

  • 2000 – 2009

    First investments into the Berlin residential market are made. Most of the residential real estate owned in Sweden is converted into owner occupied units and thereby divested.

  • 2010 – 2019

    In the first years of the decade Procedo is still active in existing markets, while also investing in a joint venture to develop housing in France. In 2017 the Swedish real estate portfolio is divested in several transactions.

  • 2020 – today

    Procedo’s commitment to the Berlin housing market increases by opening a new office while also expanding the portfolio. Meanwhile our company focusing on industrial properties in Sweden, Asservo Fastigheter, is founded and the first acquisitions are made in 2023.

Per Johansson
CEO Germany

Per joined Procedo in 2017. Previous experience include leadership positions at Schibsted and Betsson, as well as management consulting at McKinsey & Co. Per is responsible for Procedo’s German business.

Gustav Hertzberg
CEO Sweden

Gustav joined Procedo in 2021. Previous experience include private equity at Brunswick Real Estate and M&A advisory at Rothschild & Co. Gustav is responsible for Procedo’s Swedish business.
